Your Magical Big Day

Adding some (extra) Magic to your Wedding Day

05.06.2014

For over a decade, I have been performing close-up magic at weddings and events across the country, helping to bring people together and create amazing memories for the people I meet.

I have been privileged to be asked to perform at some incredible venues and events; from Ascot racecourse, to The Brit Awards at London’s O2, but I have to say there is that little bit of extra excitement for me when I get the opportunity to add magic to someone’s wedding day.

I love to see the guests involved, laughing and looking perplexed (in a good way!), and knowing that for the time that I am there, I am helping a couple to enjoy the start of their new chapter together.

Everyone knows that planning a wedding can be hugely stressful (I’m in the process of planning my own, so believe me; I understand!), but we also know that it will culminate with one of the best days of your life.

You can plan everything down to the last detail; who will sit where, how long you will have for photographs, what fancy shape the napkins will be folded into and how many tissues the mother of the bride will use, but it still doesn’t stop the worry of ‘what if my guests get restless?’.

After all the planning, you’re going to want to relax and enjoy your day, so why not let someone else help alleviate that stress?

Your wedding will probably be the one time that all of your favourite people will be in the same place at the same time, but they may not all know each other.

After the ceremony when you and your ‘better half(?!)’ duck off to have some photographs taken, your guests will be left to themselves. Fast forward a couple of hours to when the coffee cups are being cleared away and the singer of the band is saying his “1 – 2 – 1 – 2’s”, and your guests will once again have a break before they wear holes in their dancing shoes.

It is in these moments that your guests will be left to their own devices and you will want to enjoy every minute of your day, not worry about them getting restless.

Magic is great for breaking the ice. It brings groups of people together giving them a common subject to talk about and will keep them entertained whilst you and your new Mr or Mrs share a moment together, and whilst you are both mingling.

Of course, it’s not just your older guests who will benefit from some roaming entertainment, but your younger guests will too.

Having a magician who can keep the Children entertained is a worthwhile plan. Balloon modelling is also becoming more popular as it can cater for all ages… And will provide some excellent props for photos!

Magic will create lasting memories and have your guests talking about your wedding, long after it has finished! Happy wedding planning, remember that it is *your* day to do whatever *you* want with. Make it magical!
